Sympathy and Prayers

Here is my first sympathy card.  I didn't realize until my mom asked me for one a few weeks ago that I didn't have any.  I guess it's not the kind of event that you normally think to make cards for.

Anyways, I tried to go for the "elegant, but simple" look for this one.  For the background, I used one of my new favorite stampin' up embossing folders - elegant boutique.  I colored in the center of the flowers with a black marker and glitter and then added some butterflies and a sentiment.

Please excuse the lovely line in the center of the card. My camera is currently not working right now, and I've had to use my moms until I can get a new one :(

Materials Used:
  • Stampin' Up -  elegant boutique embossing folder, bitty butterfly punch, petite pairs
  • Paper - white cardstock, black cardstock
  • Other - black ink, black marker, glitter

D'vine Swirl Christmas Card

Today I have another Christmas card to share.  One of my favorite things about the holidays is all of the cute crafts you can make - especially card.  I find myself making them all year long.  And you can never have enough Christmas Cards :)

For this one, i used some Christmas design paper and ran it through by big shot to create a textured look.  I  used the scentsational seasons embosslits to cut out the tree and put some green polka-dot paper behind it.  I then added the star on top and some baker's twine to finish it off. Not sure how I feel about the silver glitter on the star - may have to change that to red glitter.

Materials Used:
  • Stampin' up: scentsational season emboslits
  • Paper - Christmas design paper from joanne's, green polka-dot paper, white cardstock
  • Other - d'vine swirl embossing folder, red baker's twine, glitter

Merry Monday Challenge #76

Here is my second card using the Stampin' Up Button Buddies stamp set, which is retiring at the end of May.  I love cute bottoms that it incorporates.  The tiny heart in the corner is from the owl punch.

I am also submitting this card for the Merry Monday Challenge over at Always Playing with Paper. The challenge this week was to use a snowman...how cute is that?  I'm sure I will be making a lot more snowman cards in the next few months :)

Hopefully this is the last of winter we will see for awhile :)

Materials Used:
  • Cardstock - white, red, blue
  • Paper - assorted blue patterned
  • Other - markers, snowflake punch, owl punch, white buttons, red ribbon, silver brad

Happy Hour Christmas Card

I had to pull out the Stampin' Up Happy Hour set again for this card.  This set is super cute and perfect for lots occasion - birthdays, celebrations, and of course - Christmas!

A little time consuming, but super easy to make.  First, I stamped the glasses with black ink onto the card stock.  I then stamped the same image onto the back of a piece of silver glitter paper and cut out the little drink parts.  The candy cane and holly also came from the stamp set and I added a little rhinestone, silver ribbon, and a sentiment to top it off.

Thanks to Crafting Clare's Paper Moments for the inspiration :)

Materials Used:
  • Stampin' Up - happy hour, silver glitter paper
  • Paper - white cardstock
  • Other - black ink, red ink, green ink, silver ribbon

Paper Players Challenge #164

Here's what I came up with for this weeks challenge over at The Paper Players:

My grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary is next week and my mom has been asking me to make them a card.  I really liked this sketch and figured it was a great opportunity to finally get the card done!

I used a lot of different things for this card - stampin' ups A Word for You stamp set and Scallop Border Punch, 2 in scallop punch, gold and silver glitter, gold rhinestones, ribbon, some left over stickers I found, my cricut to cut out the numbers, and the little heart for newton's nook designs Winged Wishes set.  Wow, that was a mouthful!  Let me know what you think :)

Inky Paws Challenge #3

It's time for another Inky Paws Challenge over at Newton's Nook Designs.

Here was the sketch:
And here's what I came up with:

Since it's nearing the end of September, I thought it would be a great excuse to make some fall cards!!  I made this one using the stamp set Wagon of Wishes.  This set is so cute and perfect for fall...I love the little swirls mixed in with the leaves!  Like in my last card, I also used the single leaf from Prehistorical Pals.  They work so great together.  I added some fall-colored rhinestones, colored the leaves with stampin' up markers, and added a cute sentiment.

Challenge ends Friday, October 4th at midnight :)

Owl Punch Halloween Card

Here's a look at my first Halloween card I made this year.  For this one, I used the Stampin' Up owl punch again to make the little bat and ghost.  The ghost is made by cutting the ears off of the owl and turning it upside down.  The bat is just the owl with the wings made out of two bitty butterfly punches.  So cute!!  I love the owl punch because you can make so many different little critters with it.

This item is also for sale on my etsy shop.

Inky Paws Challenge #2

Here's my card for the Inky Paws Challenge #2 over on the Newton's Nook Designs blog:

This was this challenge's sketch:

I was really excited to finally have time to use the new Newton stamps that I got a couple of weeks ago!  For this card, I used one of my favorite set, Wagon of Wishes.  It comes with a bunch of different stamps to fill the wagon with.  I love this one with newton (the cat) and pumpkins...perfect for fall!  I used the single leaf stamp on the left side from another Newton set, Prehistoric Pals.
