Minion's First Day of School

Today I have another Minion card to share (you can see my original post here and my "partying minion" card here).  I made this for best friend Jessica.  She teaches third grade and her "first day of school" is this week.  It turned out super cute and I was even able to stamp "have a wonderful day" in white ink to make it look like chalk.  I was originally going to make her a minion card for her birthday, but it's not until May so I came up with this in the mean time :)

Available for purchase through my etsy stop.
Materials Used:
  • Stamps: "have a wonderful day"
  • Other: stampin up owl punch, d'vine swirl embossing folder, black marker, googley eyes

Merry Monday Challenge #75

Here's the second card that I'm making for my mom to use as her Christmas cards this year.  I pulled out a Stampin' Up set from last holiday season, Scentsational Seasons.  I love this set ... especially because it has matching framelets that make cutting out the images a ton easier :)

To make the coco, I stamped a separate image with brown ink, cut out the drink part, and glued it to the red image on the card.  Took a little longer to put together (especially since I had 30 of them!) but they turned out really cute!

I am also submitting this card for the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge Card Club #75 Challenge on Always Playing with Paper.

Materials Used:
  • Stamps: scentsational seasons, happy holidays
  • Other: cardstock, ink, scentsational season framelets, northern flurry embossing folder, scallop trip, red and white polka dot ribbon, rhinestones

Jolly Christmas

I must be getting excited for Christmas early this year ... all I've been working on this past week are tons of Christmas cards!  I got the No Peeking stamp set from Stampin' Up at the end of the holiday season and finally was able to use it today.

Here's the first card I made.  These are going to be the first of two cards that I'm making for my mom to use as her Christmas cards this year.  And, of course, I made a few for myself as well :)

Here's some close up pictures.  To make the penguin, I first stamped the image with black ink on the card.  I then stamped the image with green and blue on a separate sheet of cardstock, cut out the scarf and hat, and then glued the pieces to the card.  The nose was made by using an orange marker.

Materials Used:
  • Stamp: no peeking (retired)
  • Other: cardstock, ink, northern flurry embossing folder, green ribbon, ornament punch, rhinestones, orange marker

Winnie the Pooh Card

I made this Winnie the Pooh Card as a thank you for Deb Hoffmann.  Last week, my friend Amber was looking for Eeyore stuff on ebay and she came across a box of stuff that Deb was selling.  Turns out she holds the Guinness World Record for the largest Pooh and Friends Memorabilia collection...and she lives in Waukesha!!!

To make a long story short, she invited us over to see her amazing collection (currently at 9,864 items!)

Checkout some of the pooh stuff...they take up three whole bedrooms!!!

She even had a collection of Winnie the Pooh books and I got to take some home with me :)

Kitten and Yarn Cards

Here is my fourth and final card knitting / yarn card that I made for Stitches Midwest on August 8-10th (next weekend!) with Kim Apel.  Our friend and co-worker Bobbi will be selling them along with her awesome hand spun yarn.  Checkout her facebook page or shop on etsy to see some of the items that she will be selling!

To make this card, I used the Stampin' Up set Storybook Friends and a variety of different greetings from the set Knit Happens by My Favorite Things.  It came with a lot of knitting and yarn related sayings that were perfect to use for our cards.  I used my cricket to make all the different sized circles and little flowers and a bunch of couple of different embossing folders to add some dimension.  To top it off, I added a few rhinestones in the center of the flowers.
